Our Story

Hello! My name is Angie and I am the owner and baker of Ooh La La Confectionery, which is a Cottage (home) bakery located in Kissimmee, Florida. With the love and support of my amazing husband and two amazing little girls, we are Ooh La La Confectionery. Growing up I always had a passion for baking. I have many memories of baking boxed cakes with my mom and eagerly waiting for her to finish putting the batter in the pan so my brother and I could lick the batter residue off the bowl and utensils. When I was 2 years old, my mom made a cake for me that looked like a house! I don't remember it, but there is a picture to prove it. I remember being older and asking her who made it. When she said that she made it I was in total shock! My mom isn't so much of a baker anymore but I know I get my creativity from her.

I always knew that I wanted baking to be a part of my life but I didn't know how I was going to do it. After many Major changes in college, I finally settled on Business Administration with a Minor in Human Resources. However, I wasn't happy. I was stuck in several dead end jobs, living paycheck to pay check, feeling unfulfilled. When I was pregnant with first child my husband and I decided that I would stay at home and raise our little one. It wasn't an easy decision to make and many sacrifices had to be made but it is a decision we will never regret. When my daughter was about to turn two she fell into the "Frozen" mania and with the newly released short of "Frozen Fever" I knew I wanted that as the theme to her upcoming birthday. I wanted to order custom cookies but my budget wouldn't allow it. So, I started researching and watching YouTube videos on how to make them myself. I was hooked! I made my first cookies. While not perfect they were pretty good for my first time. At the party everyone raved about how good they were and that I should start selling them. I began making cookies for baby showers, birthdays, graduations even started to dabble in cakes. Then Ooh La La Confectionery was born. I launched Ooh La La Confectionery on social media May 4, 2017.

I have learned so much since I’ve started and I learn more and more every day. Although we all start from somewhere, I consider myself a self-taught baker. I have taken some classes but most of the things that I have learned has been from lots of research and YouTube videos. When it comes to this business I am a one women show and work from home, but I hope to one day own my very own bakery and be able to hire more helping hands.

Being able finally use my creativity for something I love to do is such a blessing and I am grateful every day. It's not always easy and can be stressful at times but I wouldn't change it for the world. I would love for you to continue to follow along with me and my journey. I hope to be able to have the opportunity to fulfill your cake and cookie dreams!

With lots of love and confections,

Angie
